Sunday, October 6th @ 2:30 ; Group Meets at the Carnegie Museum of Art’s Gift Shop
I am happy to announce that Chatham University’s resident American Art expert, Dr. Elizabeth Roark, will be accompanying our group for a tour of the Carnegie International’s exhibit, which is opening on the same weekend as THATCamp Pittsburgh. Dr. Roark will share her knowledge of Art and the Carnegie with a focus on art that utilizes a technological component. Don’t miss this opportunity to combine learning and fun!
Elisabeth L. Roark is an Associate Professor of Art at Chatham University who manages the art history concentration and the art museum studies minor programs. Previously she was employed by the Carnegie Museum of Art and has worked on four past Carnegie Internationals, primarily training tour guides, developing adult programming, and teaching classes on the exhibition. Besides contemporary art, Dr. Roark specializes in colonial and nineteenth-century American art, artists’ social and professional identities, and death culture.
Admission is to be paid by each attendee that opts to take part. The Chatham University shuttle will be available to get you from the campus to the museum – but please be mindful of the schedule for the shuttle, which has a link on the Travel page of this website.
