Matthew Strauss, Chief Archivist at the Senator John Heinz History Center, manages the acquisition, description and preservation of the museum's physical and digital archival collections. Currently he is directing a two-year NHPRC grant to process and catalog more than 650 archival collections, which will result in MARC records and EAD files finding aids being shared in local and international databases. During his five years at the Heinz History Center, Strauss has also initiated Web 2.0 projects, established metadata creation procedures, and developed digital preservation and rights management strategies.
