Alison Langmead holds a joint faculty appointment at the University of Pittsburgh between the Dietrich School of Arts & Sciences (DSAS) and the School of Information Sciences (SIS). At DSAS, Langmead serves as the Director of the Visual Media Workshop (VMW) in the Department of Art History and Architecture. The mission of the VMW is to encourage and support innovative methods for producing, disseminating and preserving the multimedia presentation of academic work. At SIS, Langmead serves as Assistant Professor within the Archives and Information Sciences track of the Library and Information Sciences program. In her research, she designs and produces digital humanities projects that investigate visuality and materiality as a multiform, interactive process. Langmead is the co-organizer, along with Brian Beaton, of the DHRX: Digital Humanities at Pitt faculty research network.
